When I moved from Paris to New York I was engulfed by a world of POP and became fascinated by the iconic brands of American culture, so different from my own and from my Paris life. One Saturday morning, after a week of all-nighters for a big agency pitch, I had nothing prepared for my studio time, I grabbed a can of Goya Black Beans and a bottle of Tabasco Sauce from my shelf and created the mini-prints that became the genesis for this larger scale "Product Series." This series both provided the release and informed my very precise and disciplined world of advertising.
